801 Main Street.
In the heart of Winfield’s historic downtown, the building that now claims home to Biederman’s Bistro was constructed in 1872. Among various other businesses that occupied the space, the building was believed to originally be built for a furniture store, (later known as “Cates”). In 2004, proprietors Mike & Jane Hawkins purchased & restored the building to begin a bistro & catering restaurant, known today as Biederman’s Bistro & Catering.
the Chef.
The executive Chef at Biederman’s is Jane Hawkins. Jane attended college in Oregon and earned a degree in Culinary Arts. She has worked in various aspects of the restaurant industry and owned a catering business in Dodge City before moving to Winfield.
So, who exactly is Biederman? Long story short, the restaurant is named after Jane & Mike’s boys’ pet turtle, Biederman. Our T-shirts and kids menu play up the turtle theme.
